There is really no such thing as a Hypoallergenic dog. Most people think that we are allergic to the hair when, in reality, we are allergic to protein that is found in the animals saliva and skin glands which gets deposited on the hair. So, unless we can cut out the dogs tongues, no animal is totally hypoallergenic. I am not writing this to discourage people from getting a dog. There are certain dog breeds that are better than others and certain grooming practices(weekly bathing etc... all good for a Groomer like me!) that greatly reduce the occurrence of allergic reactions. Please follow the link below which will lead you to an excellent article explaining in great detail the ins and outs of "hypoallergenic" dogs.

Our goal is to simply share some of our knowledge and experience as working parents and pet experts who understand that our relationships with our pets can impact and change our lives. In addition, we will share current events and some funny antidotes. We want to offer advice on dog care and training. How to raise a dog, dog facts, etc... Examples could be the food we choose, the exercise methods, where we board them, and what is the best way to groom them?
